Okiya
Okiya (置屋) adalah rumah inap/tempat minum di mana maiko atau geisha yang berafiliasi dsepanjang kariernya di karyūkai ("dunia kembang dan dedalu": nama tradisional yang ditujukan kepada pekerjaan geisha) (Jepang: 花柳界). Okiya mendanai magang afiliasi di bawah ochaya (rumah teh) tertentu, dan memiliki 'cabang' namanya sendiri yang menghubungkan mereka bersama. Misalnya, beberapa geisha dilatih di rumah teh Dai-Ichi, Pontochō yang nama-namanya dimulai dengan Ichi-.[1]
