Minnesang

Minnesang (Jerman: [ˈmɪnəˌzaŋ], "lagu cinta") adalah tradisi penulisan lirik dan lagu di Jerman yang berkembang pada periode Jerman Hulu Pertengahan dari abad ke-12 hingga ke-14. Orang yang menulis dan menyanyikan Minnesang dikenal dengan sebutan Minnesänger (Jerman: [ˈmɪnəˌzɛŋɐ]), sementara lagunya disebut Minnelied.
Nama "Minnesang" berasal dari kata dalam bahasa Jerman Hulu Pertengahan, minne, yang berarti "cinta". Cinta merupakan subjek utama Minnesang. Minnesänger memiliki kemiripan dengan troubadour di Occitania dan trouvère di Prancis utara karena mereka semua sama-sama menulis puisi cinta dalam tradisi cinta istana pada abad pertengahan.
