Merpati spinifex (Geophaps plumifera), juga dikenal sebagai merpati berbulu atau merpati gannaway, adalah salah satu dari tiga spesies burung endemik Australia dalam genus Geophaps. Burung ini termasuk dalam kelompok yang lebih luas yang dikenal sebagai merpati perunggu. Spesies ini terdaftar dalam Daftar Merah Persatuan Internasional untuk Konservasi Alam (IUCN) dengan kategori "paling tidak memprihatinkan".[2] Ini paling sering tampak di habitat kering dan semi-kering yang memiliki rumput pembentuk hummock dari genera Triodia dan Plectrachne.[3]

Deskripsi

Merpati spinifex adalah merpati kecil dan pendek, dengan berat 80–110 g (2,8–3,9 oz), memiliki panjang tubuh rata-rata 200–235 mm (7,9–9,3 in), dan memiliki lebar sayap 300–350 mm ( 12–14 inci). Jantan berukuran sedikit lebih besar dibandingkan betina, dan umumnya sulit dibedakan secara visual.[4][5]
