Mazama rufina[2] adalah sebuah spesies rusa kecil dalam genus Mazama yang masih belum banyak dipelajari, yang berasal dari Pegunungan Andes Kolombia, Ekuador dan Peru utara, di hutan-hutan dan páramo-páramo pad ketinggian di antara 1.400 dan 3.600 meter (4.600 dan 11.800 ft). Spesies ini menjadi jenis rusa jarum terkecil. Warna bulunya kemerahan, sementara kaki dan kepalanya kehitaman.[3] Sampai 1999, beberapa otoritas memasukkan rusa-jarum pigmi (M. nana) dan rusa-jarum merida (M. bricenii) sebagai sebuah subspesies dari spesies rusa-jarum rawa.[4]

Spesies ini barangkali membentuk sebagian penting makanan orang-orang budaya Las Vegas pada kala Pleistosen.[5]
