Isolepis adalah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga teki-tekian (Cyperaceae), yang mencakup sekitar 70 spesies.[2] Isolepis bersifat kosmopolitan, dan sering ditemukan di iklim tropis yang sejuk dan iklim sedang di Afrika dan Australasia.[3][1]
Isolepis pertama kali dideskripsikan oleh ahli botani produktif Robert Brown pada tahun 1810.[4] Pada tahun 1870, ahli botani Boeckeler membubarkan genus ini dan memasukkan sebagian besar namanya ke dalam genus lain, yaitu Scirpus. Menjelang awal abad ke-20, Isolepis tidak lagi diakui karena ahli botani lain mengikuti karya Boeckler.[3] Baru pada akhir abad ke-20, Isolepis dikembalikan statusnya sebagai genus yang berbeda berkat penelitian embriologi.
