Diplacus tricolor adalah spesies bunga monyet (monkeyflower) yang dikenal dengan nama umum tricolor monkeyflower. Tanaman ini asli dari Oregon dan California. Tumbuhan ini tumbuh di habitat yang basah secara musiman seperti padang rumput dan kolam vernal, termasuk yang berada di Lembah San Joaquin dan di dekat hutan ek pesisir utara. Tumbuhan ini sebelumnya dikenal sebagai Mimulus tricolor.[1][2][3][4]

Deskripsi

Diplacus tricolor adalah herba tahunan yang tumbuh hingga mencapai tinggi maksimum sekitar 14 sentimeter. Daunnya yang tersusun berlawanan dan sedikit berbulu berbentuk lanset lebar dan panjangnya mencapai sekitar 4,5 sentimeter. Korola bunga dapat mencapai panjang hingga 5 sentimeter, dengan dasar berbentuk tabung sempit yang muncul dari kaliks sepal yang tidak rata. Mulut bunga yang lebar berwarna merah muda tua dengan tenggorokan bercak putih dan kuning serta noda merah marun yang besar di dasar masing-masing dari kelima lobusnya.
