Diplacus bolanderi adalah spesies bunga monyet (monkeyflower) yang dikenal dengan nama umum bunga monyet Bolander (Bolander's monkeyflower).[1][2][3][4]

Penyebaran

Tumbuhan ini endemik di California, tempat ia tumbuh di chaparral dan habitat lainnya di pegunungan dan perbukitan pesisir maupun pedalaman, dari North Coast Ranges hingga Sierra Nevada dan Transverse Ranges.

Deskripsi

Diplacus bolanderi adalah herba tahunan berbulu yang menghasilkan batang tegak dengan ketinggian maksimum mulai dari 2 hingga 90 sentimeter. Daun berbentuk lanset hingga oval memiliki panjang hingga 6 sentimeter dan tersusun berpasangan di sekitar batang. Dasar bunga dibungkus oleh kelopak (kaliks) berbulu dan berusuk yang terdiri dari sepal dengan lobus runcing. Bunganya memiliki tenggorokan berbentuk tabung dan mulut lebar dengan lima lobus. Bunganya berukuran panjang 1 hingga 3 sentimeter dan berwarna merah muda, biasanya dengan bercak putih di bagian tenggorokan.
