Coccothrinax gracilis (latanier)[1] adalah spesies palem yang endemik di pulau Hispaniola.[2]

Deskripsi

Merupakan palem kipas bertubuh kecil dan ramping yang berasal dari Haiti dan Republik Dominika, Coccothrinax gracilis dapat tumbuh hingga ketinggian 10 m, dengan batang yang sempit dan halus berdiameter hingga 15 cm. Tanaman ini tumbuh subur dalam kondisi panas dan terang serta beradaptasi dengan baik pada iklim tropis dan subtropis, menunjukkan toleransi yang kuat terhadap sinar matahari dan garam. Daunnya berbentuk bulat sempurna, kaku, dan tersegmentasi dalam, dengan warna keperakan yang mencolok pada bagian bawahnya. Spesies ini sangat mirip dengan Coccothrinax miraguama, meskipun tetap berbeda karena proporsinya yang lebih halus dan kebiasaan tumbuhnya yang kompak.[3]
