Clematis pitcheri adalah spesies tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga bunga mentega yang dikenal dengan nama umum bluebill.[2] Tumbuhan ini merupakan tanaman merambat herba tahunan yang ditemukan di Amerika Serikat bagian selatan-tengah dan Meksiko utara. Tumbuhan ini tumbuh di daerah berhutan, singkapan berbatu, tepi hutan, tebing, dan habitat yang terganggu. Daunnya bervariasi, tersusun berlawanan di sepanjang batang, dan bisa berupa daun tunggal atau majemuk.[3] Pada musim gugur, bagian di atas tanah akan mati.[4]
