Choloepus adalah sebuah genus mamalia xenarthra yang berasal dari Amerika Tengah dan Selatan yang masuk kedalam famili monotipik Choloepodidae, yang mencakup tauta jari dua.[3][4] Dua spesies Choelopus (yang berarti "kaki lemah"[5]), tauta jari dua linnaeus (C. didactylus) dan tauta jari dua hoffmann (C. hoffmanni),sebelumnya diyakini sebagai satu-satunya anggota dari famili tauta Megalonychidae bedasarkan studi-studi morfologi,[6] tetapi sekarang telah dianggap berkerabat paling dekat tauta darat yang telah punah pada famili Mylodontidae bedasarkan studi molekuler.[3][4]
