Ang subasta ay isang proseso ng pagbili at pagbenta ng mga produkto o serbisyo sa pag-alok sa mga ito para tawaran, kunin ang tawad, at ang pagbili ng produkto ng mamimili na may pinakamataas na presyo. Tandaan na ang pagtawad ay kadasalang hindi pababaan ng presyo kundi pataasan. Ang bukas na pataas na presyong subasta ay ang pangkaraniwang uri ng subasta.[1] Ang sumusali sa subasta ay nagtatawaran ng harapan at kinakailangan na ang tawad ay mas mataas kaysa sa nakaraang tawad.[2]
