VIP

VIP estas mallongigo, kiu signifas en angla Very Important Person (Tre grava persono). Tiu esprimo estas konata internacie kaj ekuziĝis inter 1940 kaj 1945, nuntempe uzata en diversaj kampoj por aludi al gravuloj — politikistoj, famuloj, entreprenistoj... — kiu ĉeestas al evento kie ili postulas specialajn atenton aŭ protektadon ekzemple en flughavenoj, stacidomoj, koncertoj, ktp. La mallongigo distingigas tiajn homojn de la homamaso.

Kompreneble en Esperanto ne eblas uzi la terminon vipo, kiu signifas tute alian aferon kaj eblas uzi nur la korespondan terminon "gravulo" anstataŭ la anglaĵo.
