Tirol estas la germana nomo de la regiono Tirolo en okcidenta Aŭstrio (federacia lando Tirolo) kaj norda Italio (provinco Sudtirolo).
La nomo origine venis de la loĝloko Tirol aŭ Dorf Tirol en Sudtirolo, kaj de la tiuloka mezepoka burgo kastelo Tirol.
Sendepende ankaŭ ekzistas loĝloko Tirol en Rumanio, hungare nomata Királykegye kaj germane Königsgnad.
