Ottó Beöthy [bOti], laŭ la hungarlingve kutima nomordo Beöthy Ottó, estis hungara bibliotekisto. Lia origina familia nomo estis Salgó [ŝalgO] ĝis 1946.

Ottó Beöthy[1] naskiĝis la  22-an de majo 1904 (nun 1904-05-22) en Budapeŝto, li mortis la 1-an de marto 1985 en Budapeŝto.

Biografio

Ottó Beöthy maturiĝis en sia naskiĝurbo en 1923, poste li studis 2 jarojn en Teknikuniversitato palatino József. Inter 1928-1931 li laboris en redaktejo, poste en librovendejo. Dum la nazia erao (1944) li estis deportita al nazia Germanio. Hejmenveninta en la sekva jaro li estis bibliotekestro de la parlamenta biblioteko 2 jarojn, poste li estris tutlandan bibliotekan centron. Inter 1950-1954 li estis en prizono pro falsaj akuzoj, sed poste li estis rehabilitita. Inter 1957–1968 li estis bibliotekestro en Ekonomia Universitato Károly Marx. Li okupiĝis pri filozofio de György Lukács. Li ricevis premion en 1964.
