MusicXML estas dosierformato konceptita de firmao Recordare por la interŝanĝo de muziknotoj en okcidenta notacio (post la 17-a jarcento).

MusicXML estis komplete realigita en oficiala normformato Extensible Markup Language (XML) kaj estas pro tio tre fleksema kaj pliampleksebla. La origina koncepto estas esence transmetaĵo per XML de la MuseData-formato, kompletigita per esencaj konceptoj de la Humdrum-formato (ambaŭ akademiaj formatoj) kaj pluaj gravaĵoj.

La Dokumento-Speco-Difino (DTD) de la formato estas libere alirebla kaj substaras apartan licencon, postsentita laŭ W3C, kiu ebligas al ĉiu ajn la senkotizan uzadon.

Formato MusicXML anstataŭis la ĝis tiam uzatan formaton NIFF.
