Miriquidi
Miriquidi (=tenebrarbaro) oni nomis la antaŭ la setlado grandegan, preskaŭ nepenetreblan praarbaron, kiu kovris ercmontaron kaj najbarajn landostriojn, do grandajn partojn de Saksio kaj Bohemio. Iam ĝi etendiĝis ĝis en la ebenaĵon de Leipzig.
Laŭ fruaj fontoj oni nomis la arbaron en malnova lingvoformo de la germana miru vidu* (komparu en la moderna norvega: mørke = mallumo,tenebro). Episkopo Thietmar latinigis la vorton je miriquidi en sia kroniko de la episkopa distrikto Merseburg.
Ŝajnas esti preferinde uzi tiun formon ĉi tie, ĉar tio faciligas trovi nacilingvajn informojn.
