IMAX

IMAX estas kinosistemo evoluigita fare de la kanada firmao IMAX Corporation. Kun filmo 70mm, ĝi baziĝas sur la plej larĝa normigita filmformato kun la plej granda konvencia bildformato. La rezulta alta rezolucio ebligas brilajn kaj akrajn projekciojn sur precipe grandaj ekranaj surfacoj, kiuj preskaŭ plene plenigas la vidkampon de la spektanto. Ĉi tio intencas sentigi la spektantojn kvazaŭ ili estas fakte en la filma realo.

La vorto "IMAX" venis de la vortoj "Images MAXimum", kiu proksimume signifas "plejeble grandaj bildoj".
