Arthur BATUT estis franca fotisto, pioniro de aera fotado. Li naskiĝis en Castres (Tarn) la 9-an de februaro 1846, kaj mortis la 19-a de Januaro 1918 en Labruguière (Tarn).

Li unue inventis tipan portreton, per kombinado de pluraj portretfotoj de homoj el sama grupo (urbo, lando) en unu sola portreto kaj tiel montri la ĝeneralajn vizaĝtrajtojn de tiu homgrupo.

Poste li ekhavis la ideon uzi kajton por foti el aero. Li ekipis kajton, konstruitan de li mem, per fotilo aŭtomate funkciigita per brulado de tindra meĉo. Li tiel sukcesis fari sian unuan aerfoton en la printempo de 1888.
La 1-an de aprilo 1907 li ankaŭ sukcesis fari la unuan aeran stereofoton.
