Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Aaronmacky. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Sony Yay, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:01, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Sony YAY!

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Sony YAY!. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Sony Yay. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Sony Yay. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Nicnotesay hello!contribs 07:18, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Sab Jholmaal Hai (December 13)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Theroadislong was:
This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject—see the general guideline on notability, the golden rule and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. Please improve the submission's referencing (see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners and Help:Introduction to referencing/1), so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. If additional reliable sources cannot be found for the subject, then it may not be suitable for Wikipedia at this time.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

Guru Aur Bhole moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Guru Aur Bhole, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your submission at Articles for creation: Guru Aur Bhole (November 3)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by K.e.coffman were:
This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Ways to improve Paap-O-Meter

Thanks for creating Paap-O-Meter.

A New Page Patroller Rosguill just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

Currently provided sources don't appear to give much in-depth coverage of Paap-O-Meter in particular, instead documenting the general expansion of Sony's animated television franchises in India. In order to demonstrate the subject's notability, provide more references to significant coverage of the subject in reliable, independent, secondary sources.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Marketing at Wikipedia

Hi there, I am an administrator at the English Wikipedia. With regard to this edit where you self-identify as a manager of corporate communications for Sony Pictures Networks India, please be advised that Wikipedia is a community-run encyclopedia. It is not an outlet for promotion of any sort or for the publication of any sort of marketing content or corporate agenda content. Articles belong to Wikipedia, and that means that the community gets to decide what sort of content exists in any given article, not corporations. Corporations have the luxury of publishing whatever informative pages they want on their own websites, whereas Wikipedia is not a web host. Also what is important to us is verifiability. If readers cannot verify the content you change, then the information is ultimately useless to us. If some of the uncontroversial content were published in a central place at Sony Pictures Networks India, (like on an "About us page",) that might help with our readers' ability to verify the content, since it's unlikely any mainstream Indian newspaper like Times of India or Hindustan Times is going to publish the number of employees SPNI has, for example.

Please also note that per WP:PAID if you are a paid editor (and it seems you are), you need to disclose that fact in some obvious way; I would recommend pasting {{paid|employer=Sony Pictures Networks India}} on your user page and posting {{Connected contributor (paid)|User1=Aaronmacky|U1-employer=Sony Pictures Networks India}} on the talk page of any article you edit, but first an important caveat: conflicts of interest are a serious ethical concern. You really should not be editing articles about subjects you are closely connected to, because people with conflicts of interest sometimes find it difficult to distinguish between unbiased neutral information and promotional, aggrandising content. For this reason, you are strongly discouraged from editing articles related to Sony Pictures Networks India. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:53, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Paap-O-Meter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to fail WP:NTV and WP:GNG. Tagged for notability since 2018

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
