I'm Varad and before you want to know anything about my language skills, I'd like to tell that I do write English poems, but I wonder if they are good enough to make me feel confident to call myself a poet Here's an example

CAGED BIRD I saw a bird confined in a cage trying to flutter her wings about with rage Oh poor bird! Her plight was piteous And so my gaze was tenacious

She couldn't see her mates flying far So she beat her wings along the iron bar However all her efforts went futile Then she gave up the hope of becoming motile as her feathery arms had become red followed by the shredding of feathers down the shed

Hopelessly she tried to see beyond the sky Into the heaven & hell where all gods & devils lie for she is even ready to go to hell, thereby leaving the place where she couldn't even die

Her owner would only give her a nut or two which the bird barely could chew If such a woe happens to you then what would you do?

I could no longer see this miserable sight So I demanded her owner to grant her flight To which the owner angrily boasted about his might But I knew, I had to win this fight tonight

I tried to inculcate him with a sense of sympathy by showing that her living conditions were filthy But I failed to do so since he didn't have empathy as for him the bird is just a toy which he confined willfully

I finally threatened the wicked owner to release or otherwise I would call the police Suddenly his face turned white & it was clear he would no longer spite He joined hands in front of me and promised me to let the bird free for he knew how'd he suffer & to what degree Finally my face lit up with a glee

He made such a plea as he had been a jailed hunter So I commanded him to allow the bird to flutter After releasing she darted away perhaps to satisfy hunger I cried” Fly away bird, its your world! Live longer!”
