Crown of the Kobold King is GameMastery module D1 from Paizo Publishing and is set in the campaign world of Golarion. 32 pages long, it is the second in a direct series of four modules taking place in the Darkmoon Vale Region of Andoran, centered around the village of Falcon's Hollow. It is a dungeon delve and takes place directly after the events in Hollow's Last Hope.

Plot Summary

Once again, evil doings are afoot at the abandonded dwarven monastery at the foot of Droskar's Crag. Or, this time, underneath it. Merlokrep the First, Dragon King of the Truescale kobolds, is a bit of a disaster. His rule has been been plagued by misfortune; some his fault, some not. His weakened tribe has been forced upwards from the depths and now occupies the two levels directly below the monastery cleared out in Hollow's Last Hope. To try and improve his luck, he is going to sacrifice five children from Falcon Hollow whom he has abducted. The characters race against time to infiltrate the dungeon and save the youths.

Publication history

Crown of the Kobold King was released in 2007, for use with Dungeons and Dragons 3.5. It was written by Nicolas Logue, with art by UDON, Joe Ng, Espen Grundetjern and Vincent Dutrait.

GameMastery Module D0 , Hollow's Last Hope, is a direct predecessor to Crown of the Kobold King and partially takes place in the dwarven monastery above Crown's dungeons.

Pathfinder Module D1.5, Revenge of the Kobold King, takes place immediately after D1, Crown of the Kobold King and continues the story.

Pathfinder Module D4, Hungry Are the Dead, follows D1.5, Revenge of the Kobold King and brings closure to the four-module story arc.

Pathfinder Chronicles: Guide to Darkmoon Vale is a regional guidebook that provides additional background and details that can be incorporated into the entire series.

Pathfinder Module E1, Carnival of Tears, is not directly related to the aforementioned modules nor is it part of the story arc, but it is set in Falcon's Hollow and shares many of the same places and people.
