Lord Audley served as a soldier in his early manhood, and fought for King Henry V in the French campaigns of the early 15th century. Lord Audley (born approximately 1398/1400) was a Lancastrian General who commanded approximately 10,000 troops defending the throne of King Henry VI and Queen Margaret of Anjou at the Battle of Blore Heath on 23 September 1459. Lord Audley’s forces were defeated and Audley was killed sometime in the afternoon on that day. Lord Audley married Eleanor de Holland. The late Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales is also a descendant of Lord Audley.
