Jimmie Webster "The Guitarist's Guitarist" 1908-1978

An American professional guitar artist in demand from coast to coast including radio, television, concerts and record sessions who developed his own revolutionary "Touch System" better known today as "tapping" Jimmie being one of the first two-handed tappers as well as teaching and inventing in the 1950's / 1960's He also held possibly one of the first guitar seminars in the UK for Arbiter Gretsch @ The Liverpool Cavern Club on the 27th April 1962 Arranged by Frank Hessy LTD Liverpools foremost guitar dealer alongside Rushworth & Dreaper who supplied the Beatles with the Gibson Acoustic Guitars they used. Playing to a packed enthusiastic audience on his Gretsch White Falcon Stereo guitar Jimmie dazzled the young Merseyside musicians of the day with his arrangements of Bob Carlton / Graham & Williams / Duke Ellington plus Rogers & Hart music amongst others at his Cavern debut even throwing in his arrangement of Mary Had A Little Lamb Chet Atkins quoted  : " A great style of pickin'. I've never heard so much music out of one guitar. We always look forward to Jimmie's visit to Nashville."
