Morpheus soul is music that encapsulates progressive soul and soulful hip hop. Morpheus Soul is an online radio broadcast operated by the Morpheus Soul crew which also broadcasts worldwide.
The name rebukes the term ‘neo soul’ which gained popularity in the early 1990s, for its narrow definition. Morpheus Soul incorporates the broader spectrum of music of soul origin including both modern/contemporary and original forms. It is also a symbolic term that shares a reference with the film the Matrix, as providing an alternative to popular R&B/Soul music that dominates the modern music scene, (Which is seen as the ‘Matrix)
