This user is a seventh generation Australia descended from at least four convicts. Their subsequent experiences covers surviving the death ship Hillsborough, the Paramatta Orphan School for Girls, drought, flood, cattle stations, a few bank crashes, overlanding, colonial cricket, inventing Aussie Rules and wool presses, setting up the first newspaper, several wars, massacres and reconciliations - in fact if Australians were there, so were we. It's a warts and all learning experience. Few people are blessed with such a cavalcade of adventure.

More recently she wrote hundreds of articles for the Melbourne Age over 21 years on the topics of education and careers, published a number of books, edited many more, taught English and journalism then retired.

She only became interested in Wiki stuff when she found people using an unsigned article written in the Chicago Tribune from 1899 to defame her family and alter the course of sporting history in Australia. The incident they described in such lurid detail was forty years before their article was written. It was disproved, but too late. Hence the need for accurate source confirmation became ingrained in the psyche.
