Cnemic Index
The Cnemic Index is a concept used in osteology and biological anthropology. The idea is to provide a comparative measurement for the breadth of human shin bones. It is taken from the measurement of the medio-lateral flattening of the tibia at the nutrient foramen.
The formula is: ML/AP x 100.[1]
