Surfers Paradise Cricket Club

Surfers Paradise Cricket Club is a cricket club that plays in the Gold Coast Cricket Association.

History

The SPCC was formed in 1978 from the Surfers Paradise Australian Football Club, with many players from the football team playing in the cricket club's first season. The SPCC first started playing at the Isle of Capri, where many a hard game was won and lost. In 1985, thanks to the generosity of Sir Bruce Small, the club moved to larger grounds at Benowa, and the club is stil housed there today.

Life members

The first life members of the SPCC were David Johnston and Graham Carlson. then Robert Tucker nd Peter Swan and then Paul Griesbach and Steven Fildes.
