Speed-hop is a fusion between Hardcore Hip-Hop and Drill and Bass genres. The term came into use a few years ago, when a Hip-hop band in Romania had called itself "SpeedHop67", because of the bands Drum'n'Bass influences. The hallmarks of this fusion genre are the strong drum patterns, the heavy bass and the vocal attitude imposed by the MCs. Even though it's a subgenre of Drum and Bass music, the focus is on the vocal part on speed-hop records.
