Sasha C. Damjanovski is a writer and director of film. Born in Bosnia (then Yugoslavia) in 1964, he moved to Macedonia where he first began writing as well as working on Radio and TV as a presenter and journalist. During this time he also 'discovered' that writing for the screen and directing film is to be his career and moved to London. He started directing soon after that. The screenplay for his first short film, Waltz, was inspired by the second movement of Tchaikovski's Swan Lake. Other short films soon followed, among them most notable:

LATE at the OFFICE - 14 min. thriller, a modern day haunted house story, based on a story by Tom O'Brien. The film played at several film festivals, in Electric Cinema, London for two weeks as a pre-feature to Once Were Warriors and was then sold to TV in the UK, Germany, Sweden and Russia. Late at the Office was recommended as 'satellite choice' by Time Out and What Satellite magazines during it's Tv premiere on UK Living TV in 1995.

Green Pages – 17 min., futuristic comedy is probably the world's only adaptation of the phone book directory, executed in a single continuous 17 minute take. AWARDS: Best Cinematography, Chicago Short Film Festival; Best Director, Portobello Film Festival, London, 2007. I also wrote and produced this film. The Appointment – 10 min., comedy-drama, commissioned by the DRC (Disabilities Rights Commission), a story of a man who gets diagnosed with diabetes. Received a 40 print national cinema release as well as 20,000 copies DVD distribution. Hoppy - 20 min., written by Matt Parker, was a dark comedy about a woman obsessed with her childhood spacehopper. The Appointment was written and directed by Damjanovski. Commissioned by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (then still DRC), this 10 minute drama addresses a range of issues in the perception of disabilities and the way they're handled by those directly affected as well as the people around them. In 2008, Damjanovski joined forces with Simon James Collier, Ashley Pugh and Lucas Manley and produced the feature film Dance With Me. Sasha also wrote and directed the film, an 82 minute drama, a story of a couple spending time in their summer house and trying to come to terms with tehir own as well as their partner's issues. A micro-budget film, it features dialogue drama as well as contemporary dance sequences which combine contemporary dance and tango nuevo. Sasha has been exploring artistic photography since 2005, with particular focus on dance, portrait and abstract photography. The first exhibition of his photographic work took place at the Barren&Barren Gallery, London, in 2006, followed by an exhibition at AsterFest, the 3rd International Film Festival in Strumica, Macedonia, 2007.

In 2009, Damjanovski will collaborate with Simon James Collier on the stage and film productions of Project Snowflake, a futuristic satire written and to be directed by Damjanovski.
