Neil Kengni is an English professional footballer currently playing for Forest Green.[1] He is most well known for hitting the crossbar against Tottenham Hotspur with the game tied 0–0 in the 19th minute of an FA Cup third-round match while playing for non-league Marine.[2] The game represented the largest divide between any two teams who had ever played in the history of the FA Cup. At the time, Tottenham played in the Premier League, the first division of English football while Marine played in the Northern Premier League Division One North West, in the eighth tier of English football, separated by 161 combined places.[3][4]

Club Career

Neil Kengni started his youth football career at Rochdale AFC, moving up the ranks and eventually reaching the Under-18 team. At the end of the 2017–18 season, he was released.[5]

On August 24, 2018, Neil Kengni joined Stalybridge Celtic who were playing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division at the time.[5][6]

Personal Life

Neil was born on leap day, 2000. He is eligible to play for either the English or Cameroon national football teams.
