Oliver Jerome Jackson; born November 27, 1972) is an American television writer. In 2016, he was awarded a PROMAXBDA[1] North America Promotion, Marketing and Design award for Back to the Future Marathon :30.

Early life

Jackson was born in Monroe, Louisiana. He was raised by his mother, Carloyn Ann Jackson, this first African American hired in the Monroe City Court[2] as an assistant to Judge Lamy Lane, and his father, Rev Dr. O.J. Jackson. He grew up in the Bryants Addition neighborhood and graduated in 1990 from Wossman High School[3]. At the Wiley College, he majored in Business Administration and Computer Informational Services.

During his summer vacations, he would travel to the Dallas Texas and spend time with his older brother Rod Sellers and Tandy Johnson who acted as his parents and influenced much of his early childhood.

His first interest was in television began as third grader at Swayze Elementary, which after visiting a local television program broadcasted on KNOE he got to see the behind the scenes of where the magic happened. Writing scripts private and becoming disillusioned with this only job he held since leaving college, he sold all his house and all his belongings and decided to move Los Angeles and make it in the entertainment industry.

Television

In 2007 Jackson joined the G4TV [4]also known as the Video Game network as production assistant and quickly worked up the ladder to become an Associate Producer.
