"Oh well, dead fly!"

The phrase "Oh well, dead fly" originates in Kefalonia, June 2008. The phrase translates to "Oh well that's life" - and translates exactly, word for word.


History

June 2008, the creation of the 'dead fly' phrase began. The exact time and place are unknown to most, however it is thought that the song, "That's life" by Frank Sinatra was pure inspiration. The words 'dead' and 'fly' replace the words 'that's' and 'life', fitting well into the song.

Then after much thought, the phrase caught on, it actually is thought to have deep meanings.

"Most flies, live for 24 hours. They die, everybody knows, and nobody cares. Its life, nothing can be done, everyone forgets it happens. Because that's life!" - inventor (name n/a)

The phrase was then brought home to Oxfordshire, England. It is thought to spread also to a few European countries. Two accounts of the phrase have been heard in Tokyo, Japan and 3 in New York City. The phrase is growing fast.
