Children Medieval Band

Children Medieval Band (often abbreviated CMB) is an American musical trio formed in 2011 by three siblings of Romanian descent. The group performs medieval and Renaissance music as well as rock covers and original compositions. They received international media attention in 2012 after their YouTube cover of Rammstein’s “Sonne” went viral, leading to coverage by multiple reliable secondary sources and an invitation to open for Rammstein at a major concert in Denver.

History

Children Medieval Band was formed in 2011 by siblings Stefan, Olga, and Cornelia, who began performing medieval and Renaissance repertoire at local events.[1] The trio originally performed under the name The Crudeles before adopting their current name later that year.[1]

The band gained widespread attention in 2012 when their cover of Rammstein’s “Sonne” attracted significant online viewership and was highlighted by the music outlet Loudwire.[2] Following this exposure, Rammstein invited Children Medieval Band to open for them at their 20 May 2012 Denver Coliseum concert, where they performed in front of thousands.[3]

Between 2013 and 2015, the group performed at historical and cultural events in Southern California. They later released original music independently through Bandcamp and other digital platforms.[1]
