Mark M. Wilde

My name is Mark M. Wilde. I am an [Associate Professor] of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University. From 2018-2022, I was an Associate Professor with a joint appointment in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Center for Computation and Technology at Louisiana State University. From 2013-2018, I was an Assistant Professor with the same affiliations. From 2009-2013, I was a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University working in the group of Patrick Hayden. During 2009, I worked as a quantum computing engineer at SAIC, after obtaining my doctoral degree from the University of Southern California in the Communication Sciences Institute and Center for Quantum Information Science and Technology in the department of electrical engineering. My home page is at markwilde.com

I am a researcher focusing on quantum computing, quantum information theory, quantum computational complexity theory, optical implementations, and quantum error correction. I have held several research grants on these topics as listed on my CV. As such, if I edit pages on Wikipedia having to do with these research topics, this could be considered "paid editing" according to the policies listed at WP:paid editor.

I have written a textbook Wilde, Mark M. (2017). Quantum information theory (Second ed.). Cambridge University Press. ISBN 978-1107176164. which is available for purchase from Cambridge University Press. This textbook is a standard reference in the field of quantum information science, having garnered over 1000 citations according to Google Scholar. The whole book is available as a free download from the arXiv. I have contributed various articles to the topic of quantum information theory and some of these pages contain links to my textbook. As such, these contributions could be considered "paid editing" according to the policies listed at WP:paid editor.
