Motion Raceworks is a company founded in 2015 by Doug Cook, Brian Jack, and Andy Cook. Like any good startup, it was founded in Doug Cook's basement in Eldridge, IA where it began with one product, a turbo flange with mounting ears to solve the problem of supporting turbochargers to prevent hotside tubing cracking over time. Prior to the beginning of Motion Raceworks, Doug Cook built cars for friends and customers in his spare time which is where he developed many of his initial product ideas that were based on making cars easier to build and improving the quality of builds especially by at home do it yourselfers.
Long before, and throughout the history of Motion Raceworks it has focused on building its own fleet of hot rods and race cars to continually understand the needs of builders and fellow car enthusiasts. This has been a key separation of Motion Raceworks in the industry to create components from a need rather than a board room.
Over the next several years Motion began to design, 3D print, and manufacture their own line of products which quickly began creating their own catalog of Made in the USA products based off of product ideas from cars they were building and had in the past. In 2016 Motion Raceworks opened a walk in speed shop in Davenport, IA where it was operated until 2018 when the business went completely online retailing parts created in house. In 2018, Motion purchased their first CNC machine, a Haas VF-2 vertical mill to fulfill the needs for machined parts and bring new designs to life.
June of 2018 Motion moved to Dewitt, IA at 112 E. Industrial St. This began a rapid expansion into machined parts and large scale production. Their product lines expanded to creating more complex aluminum machined parts including billet valve covers, catch cans, throttle bodies, and more. Over the next several years Motion purchased and brought online over a dozen CNC machines to continue to in house manufacture its products.
During the summer of 2021, Motion Raceworks teamed up with popular youtuber and close personal friend Cleetus Mcfarland (Garrett Mitchell) to add as a minority ownership partner in Motion Raceworks.
In September of 2021 Motion Raceworks acquired TBM Brakes (founded in 1993) and RIFE Sensors out of Camarillo, California. Later moving TBM Brakes in January of 2022 to a new facility in Bradenton, Florida while retaining RIFE Sensors at its Motion Raceworks facility in Dewitt, IA.
Motion took the next several years growing and expanding both TBM Brakes and RIFE Sensors product lines while simultaneously growing Motion Raceworks product lines to continue to push the automotive aftermarket forward and focus on Made in the USA manufacturing.
In June of 2023, Motion Raceworks acquired R&R oil pumps, producer of external wet and dry sump oil pumps. Moving immediately to its Dewitt, IA facility, this was rebranded as Fluidworks and began Motion's entry into fluid systems. For the next several years they expanded this product line into complete oil system packages, pan mount billet oil pan / oil pump assemblies, fuel filters, fuel regulators, fuel pumps, AN fittings and more.
October of 2025 brought another acquisition to the Motion Raceworks family of companies as they purchased Mark Williams Enterprises. Mark Williams, founded in 1964 by Mark Williams is located in Louisville, Colorado. This company designed and manufactures driveline components including axles, rear ends and housings, third members, yokes, couplers, hardware, and other high strength Made in the USA components.
