Man Over-Bored: The Rantings of a Mad Man#

  1. I despise "pet" sections in articles. Particularly those in spider articles. This is an encyclopedia, it should give you scientific information pertaining to any given species. By all means have a section or paragraph outlining that said species is kept as a pet, in many cases this can be relevant information given that the pet trade can often have a detrimental effect on the collected species, but it should not, not, NOT be a care sheet of detailed instructions about housing the animal, temp ranges etc etc.
    TL;DR: I hate pet sections.
  2. Firing through random articles to find things to edit that I normally would not have an interest in. It can be surprisingly difficult to find sources for even well known items, such as rivers and mountains and towns and such. I have a new found respect for the poor buggers who take such things upon them. At least with arthropods (my usual interest) you can get at least a binomial name out of them. Random clicks ahoy.
