Pee Wee Gee (born October 27, 1995) is an American writer, novelist, and musician from Columbia, Missouri.
Biography
Gee was born on 27 October 1995, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.
His father, Gee Gee, of Willow Springs, Missouri, worked an educational technology consultant at the University of Missouri. His mother, Mim Mee, of Amoret, Missouri, worked in healthcare; they met while working in Columbia.
Gee claims mostly English and Scots Irish ancestry as well as trace Black ancestry. He identifies with the term "American ancestry".
Gee began playing the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, and keyboard from childhood into adulthood; he can also play the mandolin, mountain dulcimer, and the oud. He began making hip hop and electronic instrumental music in his early teenage years, using FL Studio.
He says he began to take writing seriously in his early twenties, when he began to write short stories and poetry. He began to work on his novels in his late twenties.
He currently lives in Boone County, Missouri, with his father.
Influences
In an interview Gee has called himself "one of the most devout members of the cult of Cormac McCarthy"; McCarthy is his favorite author, and Blood Meridian is his favorite novel. He also said he has been influenced by William Faulkner, James Joyce, Hunter S. Thompson, and Edward Abbey. He mentioned his favorite childhood authors as Erin Hunter, Brian Jacques, J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King, and Max Barry.
