The 2000 United States presidential election in California refers to how California participated in the 2000 United States presidential election. California voted for the Democratic candidate, Vice President Al Gore by slightly more than 10% over Republican candidate George W. Bush. Republicans have not taken California's electoral votes since George H.W. Bush's victory in 1988 against Michael Dukakis.
