Career Beginnings
Kevin-John Jobczynski professional career began in the spring of 1987 while a senior art student of Miss Nancy Bryan at McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. Diane Esser of the Fireside Gallerie quickly realized the talent of this young, budding artist and commissioned a pen and ink rendering of three historical points of interest found in Erie. Within 30 days, Kevin-John completed the original art depicting the historic United States Brig Niagara, Oliver Hazard Perry Monument and Daniel Dobbins Landing. The original art was printed as a limited edition lithograph, edition size 350, and premiered on the public broadcasting WQLN Television Auction as a donated piece of art. The money raised through the auction of the art helped to continue public broadcasting in the Erie area. The excitement generated by Kevin-John’s appearance on the TV auction helped to fuel the early sales of the young artist’s rookie effort and ignited a career.
Lithographs and Portraits
