John C. Flood has been providing the Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland areas with plumbing, air conditioning, heating & electrical services for over 100 years.

John C. Flood started in Northwest Washington, DC in 1904 originally named J.C. Flood & Co. Inc. Primary services offered back then were plumbing, heating, tinning and guttering. Residential Air Conditioning would not be introduced for another 16 years. The American engineer best known for inventing the modern air conditioning is Willis Haviland Carrier and he first submitted drawings for the design on July 17, 1902. Now as the population began to spread out and away from Washington, DC John C. Flood expanded it plumbing and heating services to Arlington, Virginia, Alexandria, Virginia and Fairfax, Virginia.

Now John C. Flood may have started offering plumbing services from day one, but plumbing has been around for thousands of years - maybe not in North America since we only got on the plumbing bandwagon a couple hundred years ago. Just to give you an idea King Minos of Crete had the first flushing water closet (toilet) in recorded history and that was over 2800 years ago. The toilet, water closet or whatever you want to call it did not reach the United States until the 1880's and only then were they found in luxury hotels and wealthy people.
