Biography -

Greetings traveller; the names Maveric - John maveric, im a 30 something producing dubstep. My roots stem back to the mid 80's, where I was influenced by classic horror movies, retro Hip Hop, and Jean Michel Jarre, bit of an odd mixture your thinking hey? These influences led me to take up learning the piano and music theory whilst writing and producing raps with friends.

           By the mid 90's i'd been attending many raves such as 'total kaos, dreamscape, helter skelter, one nation, the future, etc' It was a natural progression for me to take up drum and bass mcing. From 1997 - 2005, i was fortunate to hold reidencies at various nights, 'Sonic Boom, Formation, Hysteria, Genetic, Get It On' as well as mcing in Germany, Amsterdam Hong Kong, China, Singapore' mcing with 'Andy C, Hype, Fabio, Grooverider, Fresh, Ed Rush, Shy FX, DJ SS, Zinc, Brian G, Jack Frost, Randall, Ray Keith, Mampi Swift, Kenny Ken, Mickey Finn, Roni Size, Goldie, High Contrast, Nu-Tone, Logisitics, Peshay, Zinc, Twisted Ind, Zen, APB, Rap, Doc Scott etc - Time seemed to fly - and by 2004 I was beginning to lose faith in the scene, no disrespect to any of the artists, but for me personally I wasn't feeling the drum and bass music as much and I was feeling the competition within the mc circuit which made me ask myself 'am I actually enjoying this anymore?. 
       Dubstep couldn't have happened at a better time for me, on first listening to it i was hooked!! So I decided to concentrate my efforts on producing dubstep. Since mid 2007 i've been working on my own tracks and i've also been collaborating with Rob Sparx on the tracks 'stroller' which featured on his debut album 'Trooper'. Also  'Guns at Dawn' on 'Migration', & 'Windscreen Sniper' on 'Z-Audio' -  My first solo release is out now called 'Number 1 Station' b/w 'Badman Slick' on Sparx 'Sour grapes' label........
