Boulder Freeride
Boulder Freeride is the ski and snowboard club at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Freeride was started in 1933 and is the largest collegiate ski and snowboard club in the nation, as well as the largest student group on campus, with over 3000 members.
Events
Boulder Freeride provides many opportunities for their members to have fun and get pumped for the season during the fall. A gear swap allows members to sell their old gear and buy lightly used gear to complete their setup. A camping trip is organized, bringing about 75 members into the mountains for a weekend of crazy fun.[1]
Monthly Meeting
Boulder Freeride holds many events for the club members. A general membership meeting is held during the first week of each month. Each meeting consists of games, prizes, free food, a DJ, and anything Boulder Freeride can bring to its members.
Welcome Freeriders
Welcome Freeriders is an event that takes place in the center of campus; the goal of Welcome Freeriders is to give our members as much free stuff as possible, encourage new members to sign up, and get the student body excited for the upcoming season
Movie Premiere
Every year Boulder Freeride puts on preseason ski and snowboard video premiers at local venues, aiming to give our members a glimpse at the best videos of each season. Boulder Freeride brings everything from TGR productions to overseas Isenseven, to local filmmakers, to a screen for your viewing pleasure.
Rail Jam
Boulder Freeride works to provide you with a place to showcase your talent. They bring in the snow, features, and excitement that are necessary to jib on rails and show off your steeze, with plenty of prizes.
Shop Night
During preseason, Boulder Freeride works with local shops to provide its members with private sales and huge discounts. Local shops close down their shops to the general public, providing Boulder Freeride memebrs with major discounts.
Trips
Trips for the 2008-2009 season include Breckenridge, CO; Whistler, BC; XGames 2009; and Park City, UT. Boulder Freeride also runs a "condo weekend" each month in Breckenridge, CO, in addition to a trip to Crested Butte, CO.
