In late 2019 Gabriel Ellison while bored at his job doing road construction began playfully thinking up a character for made up adventures in his mind. This character would be the Mexican luchador Green Diablo. Over time things would change in Ellison's mind first seeing Green Diablo become an American MMA fighter which resulted in the name change to Jade Devil. In 2020 Ellison would begin his first attempts at physcally writing stories using his made up superhero. And by late 2021 he made the decision to seek out an artist to bring his creation to life. He would meet Josiel Erasmo through a subreddit for comic creators and the two would immediately get to work designing the characters for the story.

Once they had finalized the character designs the real work began as the first pages bagan to br drawn. The final product of Jade Devil #1 was released on October 5th 2022.

As a young boy Christian Walsh and his twin brother Noah were savagely abused by their drunkard father. Until one day he turned his drunken rage towards their little sister Annie and Christian lashed out in defense. He hit his father hard in the jaw and as he stumbled backwards he tripped over an empty liquor bottle, falling and hitting his head on the corner of a coffee table resulting in his death. Christian, Noah and Annie found themselves inside a foster home where their luck wouldn't be much better. The abuse would continue and Annie's mental health would take a sharp decline. Annie would begin showing signs of aggressive behavior and even violent tendencies. Noah would insist that they get her metal help immediately after one day finding her having killed a cat but Christian convinced him to allow them to handle it themselves. Eventually Annie would harm another boy in the home and be sent away to a mental institution far away from her brothers a fact that Noah would entirely blame on Christian, an opinion that Christian would share, this would cause a rift between the brothers that never truly was mended seeing as Christian ran away from the home shortly after. Christian would find himself increasingly involved with seedy company in the streets of Bleakwood until finally meeting Greg Salem, a fellow teen drifter and the two became fast friends agreeing that despite their situations they were above lives of crime. The two decided to help each other survive with Christian choosing to do so by participating in underground fighting tournaments and Greg would get more legitimate employment by doing odd jobs for strangers. Eventually the two entered adulthood with a small bit of money between the two. They would move into a small two bedroom apartment where they would attempt to make lives for themselves. Christian, who was a talented fighter, began entering into legitimate fighting tournaments sponsored by the city and Greg somehow found his way into business school. The two street rats seemed to have finally made it.

Eventually Christian would meet a woman named Mary and they would fall in love. Christian would marry her and they would have a son named Johnathan. Over the years Greg and Christian would grow apart with no bad blood between them. Christian had risen up the ranks as an MMA fighter and he faced his grand championship fight. He was ready to claim the title until being approached by a man claiming to be connected to the highest parts of the city. He told Christian he was going to throw the match in exchange for twice the profit of the winnings but Christian being the prideful man he is refused and won the match in a knockout. Christian thought no more of the man until he returned to his home only to find the lifeless bodies of Mary and Johnathan and a figure in a gun metal grey suit of armor designed to resemble a dragon. Before Christian could react the figure vanished through the window. Christian cradled the bodies of his family for two long hours before the police arrived and which time he was placed under arrest as the sole suspect for the crime. As Christian sat in the cell waiting for his release he came to a decision. A decision that the systems of this city had failed him for the last time. That they would not be allowed to fail his family. That he would take the pursuit of justice into his own hands. That night shortly after being set free he would begin his hunt for the man who he took everything from him. Christian would use his knowledge of the streets he gained while homeless to choke out information from any thug he could get his hands on. Christian would learn that the person he sought was only known as the Dragon and that he was a professional killer. Christian would follow every bit of intel until finally coming to the man who supplied the Dragon with his equipment known as the Shoe Maker. Shoe Maker would tell Christian that he knew nothing about the Dragon and explain that he had been kidnapped a few months earlier from Ivory city university and had been forced to provide the Dragon with technology. Christian and Shoe Maker came to an agreement to bring the Dragon to justice. Shoe Maker began supplying Christian with new equipment to help with his mission and even gifted him with the Jade Devil armor and name.

After some time acting as the Jade Devil he would eventually cross paths with detective Sean Pythian who became enamored with Jade Devil's attempts to save the city, something the two both want equally. Jade Devil and detective Pythian began a tentative working relationship to try and bring down a serial killer who was working for the Grimm Gang trying to synthesize a treatment to fully heal third degree burn victims through the illegal use of human fetal tissue. Gilbert Douglas also known as Rumpelstiltskin was brought to justice by their combined efforts forming the basis of their fledgling partnership. Soon after this Jade Devil would be forced to stop his deranged sister who was being used by the Grimm Gang to distract from a high profile weapons deal that Jade Devil was still able to interrupt causing the Grimm Gang's leader, Don Wolf, to sick his personal hitman on the vigilante this hitman would soon be revealed to be none other than the Dragon himself. Jade Devil and the Dragon would lock into a heated battle in the rooftops of the city where, in the heat of combat, Jade Devil would lose his helmet revealing his identity to the Dragon who scoffs at the realization that he was the man who's wife and son he murdered. He admits he was merely following orders from Don Wolf before once again vanishing into the night. Jade Devil now knowing the Don Wolf is the one responsible for his family's deaths he, against the pleading of Pythian, goes to attack Don Wolf directly at the casino he is known to run. Jade Devil tears through the small army of men protecting Don Wolf before finally confronting him. Jade Devil unleashes a barrage of fists and feet only for Don Wolf to reveal he had been born with a condition that leaves him completely incapable of feeling pain. Don Wolf then proceeds to brutally beat down on Jade Devil before throwing him from ten story window, a fall that Jade Devil barely survives. Jade Devil returns to Pythian and the two make a plan to target one of the Grimm Gang's highest ranking members, a woman called Snow White. They capture and interrogate her and she tells them that Don Wolf's one weakness is his pride and not only that but that he has been paying off the police captain in order to operate with ease. Jade Devil comes up with a plan to stop the kingpin. Jade Devil sets up a series of cameras that livestream to every television in the city while Pythian uses the police captain's stolen phone to arrange a meeting with Don Wolf. Jade Devil mocks Don Wolf causing him to go into a blind rage in which he confesses to his dealings with the city underworld. Jade Devil uses his cunning to bring Don Wolf to his knees and the few remaining clean cops in the city come to put this menace behind bars. The Grimm Gang appears to be no more until it is revealed that Snow White is still lose in the city.

Christian began fighting at a young age and started training in mixed martial arts as a teenager. He has a nearly perfect record never having been knocked out in the ring. He is considered one of the best things to ever happen to the sport.

During his younger years spent on the streets he was taught to be a thief and showed promise as a cat burglar before choosing not to let his situation taint him any further.

A suit of armor provided by the Shoe Maker. It is effectively bulletproof, highly maneuverable and is outfitted with a number of gadgets.

A cable gun is located in the wrist of the Jade Devil armor that launches a grappling hook at high speed. Jade Devil uses this for both combat purposes and to traverse the city swinging from building to building.

A pair of wings that can extend from the Jade Devil's back accompanied by a pair of jet propulsion devices in the boots of the armor.
