Dr. Mirza Muhammad Faran Ashraf Baig (PhD) is a medicinal and bio-analytical chemist with the wide experience in DNA-RNA nanotechnology. He designed novel drug delivery vehicles, and probes for biosensing & bio-imaging to investigate the Cellular Biophysics, and Mechano-Pharmacology. He conjugated DNA-based materials with polymers and peptides for the translational application of anti-diabetic，neuroregenerative, and anticancer therapeutics.

Dr. MMFA Baig is also known as a registered pharmacist (RPH) graduated in 2012 with the "Doctor of Pharmacy" (PharmD) degree from "Bahauddin Zakariya University" (BZU), Multan, Pakistan. He worked for a world-renowned pharmaceutical company Novartis Pharma for three years as a Medical Information Officer (MIO) from 2012 to 2015. He further obtained MPhil in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from BZU in 2015. Later he moved to Nanjing, China in 2015 for his PhD, and went to Hong Kong in 2020 for his postdoctoral training.

Dr. MMFA Baig got his PhD degree (2016-2020) in Chemistry from Nanjing University (NJU), Nanjing, China. During his PhD, he worked at the prestigious State Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of NJU. For the completion of his research projects, he actively collaborated with the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and the State Key Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry at NJU.

Dr. MMFA Baig got his postdoctoral training at the Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China. The theme if his postdoctoral research was about biomedical engineering to design biofunctional materials. He worked on DNA-based functional nanomaterials to apply on dental pulp stem cells for regenerative therapeutics, and osteoregenerations. He also developed materials for therapy against oral cancers, and to eradicate the biofilm formed by oral resistant bacteria.
