User:EpochFail/Snote/doc

This template is intended to represent an inline note/discussion within an article's content.

Creating a new note

  1. Create a page for your note as a subpage of the article's talk page. (e.g. Talk:Anarchism/my inline note)
  2. Paste {{User:EpochFail/Snote|my inline note}} into the article content where you want the note to appear and save the page
  3. Transclusion of your note subpage on the end of the talk page. (e.g. {{Talk:Anarchism/my inline note}})
OR
  1. Install the Wikignome user script in your account and CTRL+rightclick to bring up the context menu and select "Insert note".

Viewing or editing a note

This template will create a note placeholder in the article like this: [N]. This note placeholder will automatically produce a link to the talk page of the article where the note has been transcluded (assuming the instructions above were followed).

From this section of the talk page, you will be able to view and edit the note.

Examples

{{User:EpochFail/Snote|test}} produces [N]

{{User:EpochFail/Snote}} produces [unattached note]
