Eighty4 Fly
Deavondia Ponce Taylor (Born September 2, 1984) known by the stage name Eighty4Fly is a Rap artist and Entrepreneur from Seattle.
Early Life (1996 - 1999)
Eighty4 Fly aka Deavon Taylor began making music around the age of 12. He followed the example of a handful of brothers and cousins who persued rap careers, including No Clue, who holds the Guinness World record for fastest rapper in the world.
Beginning of Rap Career (2000-2010)
Born and raised in Seattle, the budding emcee's first time in a professional recording studio was at age 16 when he worked with West Coast producer Funk Daddy (Sir Mix-a-Lot, E-40). Upon recording and releasing the project, Eighty4 Fly was incarcerated and spent 2002-2005 behind bars. He describes his experience as "...a chance for a hardheaded kid to soul search and reinvent himself. As counterintuitive as it sounds the experience was a good one."[1]
In April 2010 he traveled to Las Vegas to film what would become his breakthrough music videos "So Cool" and "Like Planes" with prolific Seattle expat Jon Augustavo. Their release was followed by an eight track EP titled Eighty4 Fly Project, as well as a mix tape hosted by Kube's DJ B-Mello.
Current (2011-2013)
Most recently, Eighty4 Fly was featured on the track 'Gold' on Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ #1 billboard rap album The Heist.[2] He also released his 2012 mixtape entitled "Colors", featuring tracks including Hammer, Kush High, and Cool Kids.
