I am from the Pacific Northwest and have lived here for 13 years. I’m currently a college student in my second year of school, studying to become an EMT. I also play softball for my school on scholarship, I have been playing softball ever since I was a little kid! A few of my other interests include: hiking local trails, my cat Loki, riding rollercoasters, and ceramics and wheel throwing pottery. Pottery is one of the most ancient ways of artistic expression, the oldest known ceramic piece dates back to over 28,000 BCE.^[1]

I mainly use Wikipedia for school and research purposes, or to look up a quick fact about a certain topic. I don’t plan on making any edits to other pages but I will definitely continue to use Wikipedia as needed.

I have lived in the Chuckanut-Edison area for most of my life now and have grown very fond of the scenery and environment that surrounds me. I frequently visit the Chuckanut mountainside and Larabee State Park--which is Washington's very first state park. With that being said, I took a look at the Larabee state Park Wikipedia page and came to find that although there was a very good history section of the park, there was very little information other than that. The three main aspects of this page that I found worth commenting on were: there is not a lot of information listed for Fragrance Lake or Lost Lake, it does not list all of the popular activities and amenities, and lacks to mention where the state park is located on SR 11.

I have hiked up to both of these beautiful lakes many times. They are both very well known lakes in the Bellingham area and are a very common area to hike in for locals or tourists. After doing some research I came to find that there is not even a Wikipedia page for either of the lakes, which came as a shock to me. I think the Larabee State Park page could maybe provide a little more information on both lakes since there is really no other information on Wikipedia about them.

While this page does do a nice job on listing a variety of activities, in recent years there has been a lot more attraction to the area which has lead to many new activities available at the park. One main activity that is very popular at the park is hammocking, many people come to the park year round just to lay in their hammock and watch the ocean. Another amenity it does not mention is that Larabee State Park has a wonderful campground area and is a great place for weekend camping or fishing trips.

The Larabee State Park Wikipedia page also does not mention at all that the park is located on State Route 11 or Chuckanut Drive. This road is a main road that connects to I-5 and also allows people to travel directly from Burlington to Bellingham. A road might not seem like that big of a deal to mention, but this is the only road or way to get and have access to the state park so I believe it is at least worth mentioning.

I would say this page does do a good job of giving the reader a general idea of the area, but there is a lot that can be improved upon to give the reader a greater Knowledge of Larabee State Park. I would say I am very lucky to be able to live in this area and have access to such a beautiful destination, but others might not be able to share the same thinking due to the lack of information on this page. I believe if more information was added about the two lakes, the landscape, and the general area of the park, it would definitely give the reader a sense of just how amazing this park truly is!
