Dee Jones (born 1963) [1] is an African American singer/songwriter from Portsmouth Virginia, the wife of a retired Army Sergeant and mother of three children. She is the writer of the renowned "Nurses’ Anthem" which has grown in popularity since her performance at the 2010 American Nurses Association House of Delegates in which U.S. President Barak Obama was the quest speaker. She performs and speaks in numerous venues including the Washington National Cathedral, The Lyric Opera House and Ripken Stadium. According to Nursing Spectrum and The Baltimore Sun, "Dee is passionate about nursing and music." Dee has toured on Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruises and frequently performs at Women's conference worldwide.

According to Advance for Nurses ,As a nurse, Jones has been able to use her musical talents in her practice. "Nursing and music are connected, even though as I started my nursing career I thought they'd be separate," she said. "As I continue in nursing, I find it's coming closer together as I use music in the medical arena.
