Demin Yin was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.
Demin graduated from Sichuan University in 1999 and worked for several Internet companies in China. In year 2003, Demin immigrated to Canada, and lived in Windsor, Ontario.
In fall 2004, Demin enrolled as a master student at the School of Computer Science, University of Windsor. He studied there for the next two years under Dr. Asish Mukhopadhyay’s supervision.
In Oct 2006, Demin finished his master's thesis defense and graduated from University of Windsor. In Nov 2006, Demin took the Oath of Canadian Citizenship and became a Canadian citizen.
In Feb 2007, Demin moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and worked as PHP developer at The Selling Source, Inc.
Demin moved to San Francisco bay area in September 2012.
