I was hoping to comment directly on the page of info regarding Dr. Wayne W. Dyer but do not see an option to do that. So once I hit "save" on this, I do not know where it is going to show up at. I think it will only show up on a page designated as my user-name.?

Watching the 3 hour special on PBS on Wayne Dyer, I learned that he decided, on his 65th birthday, that it was time to make a drastic change in his way of life. So he retired, went off to Maui to a second home, and spent one full year reading the Tao Te Ching and meditating . He marveled at how his thoughts changed, transformed, he was much happier. REALLY!??? A wealthy man, without the stressors of a daily job, scurries off to Hawaii to meditate on the warm beaches, and, curiously, you feel remarkably more happy than when you were working? Gosh, who'da thunked it? How many people have the luxury of going off to Hawaii and meditating on the warm beaches for a year? Only the elite rich.

I imagine it to be quite easy to stroll around in a state of zen when retiring wealthy and deciding to spend a year meditating on the Tao.

Now Wayne Dyer cruises the country, charging $75.00 per head, and tells people the insignificance of WANTING, telling us to eliminate the bulk of our 'stuff'. You came here with nothing, you leave here with nothing. If that is truly the mans belief, why charge more money than even the best concerts, to get in the door? Why get wealthy, telling others to virtually take a vow of poverty? Dyer prices the average person, who could greatly benefit from the wisdom of the Tao, right out of the chance to attend. Coming from an extremely poor childhood, I would have thought that Dyer would understand this. Telling people to not obsess over acquiring 'things' while at the same time charging very high prices is a contradiction. Like Yin, and Yang, but different.

I was inspired by the wisdom of the Tao while watching this 3 hour special. Over the next few weeks, I could not help but think that the P.B.S. special is nothing more than a free to him 3 hour info-mercial to sell his books, cd's, and dvd's.
